What is Ulthera / Ultherapy
Ultherapy works via the use of ultrasound energy to target deep layers of the skin to stimulate the body’s natural collagen production.
This is an FDA-Approved Treatment for the face, chin, neck, and chest. Ultherapy uses a unique technology that allows your doctor to visualise the different layers of skin to help them properly treat targeted areas at the proper depth.
This allows collagen to be stimulated effectively via a non-invasive treatment method.
Why Is Collagen Production important?
Collagen is a protein that holds the skin in place. It forms a fibrous network of cells in the dermis called fibroblasts, where new cells can grow to replace and restore dead skin cells. Collagen production naturally reduces as part of the ageing process – this results in the drooping and sagging of skin.
Ultherapy uses ultrasound energy to heat up tissues and muscles in the deep layers of the skin. Consultation
Before Ultherapy treatment, it is important to get a detailed medical consultation with facial analysis with your doctor.
Your suitability for Ultherapy treatment will be assessed, as well as other potentially synergistic treatments (like fillers and lasers) will be recommended if suitable.
Next, we will proceed with numbing cream for 30 minutes before the procedure is performed.

During the Ultherapy treatment
The Ultherapy handpiece will be placed over the targeted treatment areas where ultrasound waves are administered deep into the skin.
These ultrasound energy waves are delivered to multiple depths of your skin to stimulate collagen in the different skin layers. This process triggers collagen contraction, which then initiates collagen synthesis.

How many Ultherapy treatments does it take?
The number of treatments a patient needs will depend on our skin’s laxity and how your body responds to the treatment..
If you have more skin laxity, you may need 2 treatments spaced 6-12 months apart. Collagen takes time to develop. Waiting this long will help you see how much your skin has improved, which will make you decide whether to have another procedure or not.
You will notice slight improvements within a couple of weeks following a procedure. Your skin will continuously improve for the next 3-6 months, leaving your skin firmer.

When will I see results?

Are there any side effects?

Traditional laser treatment treats the skin’s surface, while Ultherapy treats skin on a much deeper level. This non-invasive treatment targets the foundation level of the skin. It can go about 3.0 to 4.5mm deep - ensuring treatment from the bottom up, which effectively triggers collagen production from deep within the skin.
Laser Treatments target the skin's surface, which will require the patient some downtime. Ultherapy targets the skin from underneath, which isn’t visible. This requires no downtime, and you can immediately get back to your regular routine.
